Wellness Care for Your Exotic Pet
At Walnut Grove Animal Clinic, we believe in a nose (or beak) to tail approach to caring for your pet. This begins with wellness and prevention.
Make sure to bring your pet in for a regular wellness visit at least once a year. Our skilled team of exotic and avian veterinary experts are ready to diagnose any health issues and provide a plan of treatment. This wellness exam will also allow your veterinarian to catch issues earlier.
Due to their specific needs, it can be difficult to diagnose at first glance if your avian or exotic pet has any underlying health issues. If left untreated, smaller medical problems can evolve into larger health issues that can be both costly for you and painful for your beloved pet. Your pet’s exam is also a great time to ask any questions you may have about how to best care for your pet.
Our veterinarian will thoroughly exam your bird, reptile, or pocket pet to ensure that they are not exhibiting any signs of any underlying disease. If necessary, they will recommend further diagnostics.
Once the exam is complete and any recommendations are made, your veterinarian will walk you through next steps and answer any questions you may still have.
Make sure to bring in your pet’s medical history if you have available, including any information from their breeder. This will provide our veterinarians with the very best perspective on your pet as well as any potential genetic health risks.
